IDPA Style Carbine Match
The purpose of this match is to allow shooters to use their home defense rifles in a competition setting. We are going to start with very loose equipment rules in order to provide this opportunity to as many shooters as possible. We will operate very similar to an IDPA match because that is the type of club we are. This will be a rifle only match with no transition to or from a pistol. You will need about 120 rounds of ammunition.
As always our primary concern is SAFETY!
Safety rules
1. This match will be run on a cold range. You will be directed to the safe area at signup. Your rifle will be checked and the case marked unloaded at that time. All firearms will remain cased and unloaded unless under the direction of a safety officer.
2. You must be aware of your muzzle at all times. The muzzle of a loaded firearm must be pointed downrange at the berm at all times. Do not point at the ground or over the berm. Any round discharged must impact the berm. If, at any time, you point a loaded firearm in an unsafe direction, you will be disqualified from that match. If you discharge a firearm in an unsafe direction, you will be disqualified.
3. Always know your backstop and do not fire unless it is safe to do so.
