    Stacked barrels for stages

Well I suspect that some of you old timers around here that have been around the block a few times may have already seen this done somewhere.

I was watching a youtube video and the club used bungie cords to hold the two blue barrels stacked together. Seems like a great way to do it. Easy to use them when needed and easy to disassemble when time to tear down stage.

So they used three of the heavy black rubber bungies per stacked unit. Drill three 1/8" holes equally spaced 12,4,8 o'clock, around the middle of each barrel. Stack the barrels, and then stretch the cords vertically hooking the cord s hooks into the holes drilled in the barrels.

    Looked pretty functional.

Should be easy as all of the barrels that I have seen at Cross Timbers matches seem to be drilled already :-)

I see what you did there!!! And yes, 9mm holes are just about the perfect size.

We were doing that after seeing it at MVSA a few years ago. Guess we lost the bungies or something.

Should be bungies in the conex at JCSSA. Yancy and probably Simmons did a lot of work on those a few years ago. Works good.

How does it feel to have made it to "old timers" status Bob.

Just to head off any potential hurt feelings. I am using the term old timer in this thread to indicated years in the sport not years on earth...
